Beach elopements
Nungwi, Kendwa, Paje, Matemwe and Breezes Beach. Barefoot ceremonies, dhow sunsets and the softest light in East Africa. The most popular choice for international couples, and the simplest to arrange legally.
Royal Wedding Cinema & Photography Tanzania
There is a moment, somewhere between the last light on the Indian Ocean and the first star over the plains, when it is only the two of you. No seating plan. No schedule. No hundred pairs of eyes. Just a promise spoken out loud in one of the most beautiful countries on earth — and someone quiet nearby who knows exactly how to keep it forever. We have photographed love in Tanzania for over twenty years: on white Zanzibar sand, in Serengeti grass turning gold, beneath Kilimanjaro at dawn. Come and elope with us.
Who you'll be eloping with
Royal Wedding Cinema & Photography is led by Diven Laxman, Creative Director, with studios in Dar es Salaam and Birmingham and more than twenty years of wedding work across Tanzania, Zanzibar and the UK. Our team holds Britain's Asian Wedding Awards 2026 and has photographed over six hundred weddings — from thousand-guest celebrations to elopements witnessed by nobody but a registrar and the tide.
Elopements ask something different of a photographer. There is no second shooter to cover the room, no timeline to hide behind, no crowd to fill the frame. There is light, landscape, and two people being honest with each other. So we work quietly. We scout your location the day before. We know when the sun clears the palms at Breezes, how long the Ngorongoro rim holds colour, which stretch of Nungwi beach empties at golden hour, and what the Serengeti does at 6:40am in March.
We are locally licensed, insured, and fluent in the practical side too — permits, park fees, registrar bookings, Zanzibar's separate marriage procedure, and the certified paperwork your embassy will want afterwards. You bring the two of you. We handle the rest, and hand you back a film and a gallery that still feel like that morning fifteen years from now.
Zanzibar elopement — golden hour
Where couples elope in Tanzania
We travel to all of it — island, savannah, crater and coast — and we know which one suits the wedding you are actually imagining.
Nungwi, Kendwa, Paje, Matemwe and Breezes Beach. Barefoot ceremonies, dhow sunsets and the softest light in East Africa. The most popular choice for international couples, and the simplest to arrange legally.
Vows on an open plain at first light, acacia silhouettes, hot-air balloon portraits and lantern-lit bush dinners. Photographed with full park permits and a guide who understands a wedding schedule.
Coffee estates, crater-rim lodges and the mountain itself clearing at dawn. Cooler, greener and utterly cinematic — ideal for couples who want landscape over beach.
Our home studio. Registrar ceremonies, Serena Hotel and Masaki venues, and the practical base for couples completing paperwork before travelling on.
For couples who want no other footprints in the frame. Small lodges, boat access, and genuine solitude.
Lake Manyara, Tarangire, Saadani, a rooftop in Stone Town at dusk. If it matters to you, we will scout it and shoot it.

How it works
Step 1
A short form, then a call across whatever time zone you're in. We listen more than we pitch.
Step 2
Location, light times, registrar, permits, transfers. You get one clear itinerary, not a spreadsheet.
Step 3
We arrive early, scout in daylight, and then disappear into the background while you get married.
Step 4
Previews before you fly out. Full gallery, film and album delivered to your door anywhere in the world.
Intimate bridal detail
"We flew from Copenhagen with two suitcases and no idea what we were doing. They met us at the airport, walked us through the paperwork, and then just — vanished. We forgot they were there. The film arrived a month later and both of us cried in the kitchen."— Elopement on Kendwa Beach, Zanzibar
