Meliá Zanzibar sits on a pristine stretch of coastline along the north-east shore, offering couples an exclusive and tranquil beachfront setting. The resort's manicured tropical gardens, infinity pool overlooking the Indian Ocean, and powdery white-sand beach create an effortlessly elegant canvas — no heavy décor needed. Located near Kiwengwa on Zanzibar's north-east coast, Meliá is approximately 45 minutes from Abeid Amani Karume International Airport. The resort's signature outdoor ceremony space — powdery white sand, swaying palms, and the turquoise Indian Ocean stretching to the horizon. The natural light here is unmatched for ceremony coverage and couple portraits.
Photography tip: We time your ceremony for late afternoon so golden hour falls during couple portraits immediately after — the light off the lagoon is spectacular.
Capacity: 60–150 guests
Manicured tropical gardens with ocean glimpses — ideal for welcome cocktails, mehndi evenings, and pre-reception gatherings. The lush landscaping frames every angle beautifully with natural colour.
Photography tip: The garden pathways at twilight with the resort lights coming on create romantic ambient backdrops for candid guest moments.
Capacity: 40–120 guests
The iconic wooden jetty stretching over the lagoon and the infinity pool overlooking the ocean create dramatic ceremony and portrait locations. Both offer uninterrupted Indian Ocean views.
Photography tip: The jetty at sunset with the couple silhouetted against the horizon creates one of the most cinematic shots available anywhere on Zanzibar's coast.
